It Is Well With My Soul

When I was in San Pedro last Saturday morning, sleepy from work, I had a chance to see the beautiful slide show that Tita Sol created herself. The message is so beautiful that I can't just keep it to myself. I want to share this to everyone who is reading my blogs, even to those who will be reading them in the future.

The song in the background is famously known as It Is Well With My Soul. It is a beautiful song, especially the story behind the making of this poem in origin. I have a feeling that the story is familiar, though. But I can't remember where and when did I first hear about it.

The story, while listening to it's music, can touch you deep into your very soul. Something within me that was moved in a great sense of real power. It was amazing, I was nearly in tears. I never felt so blessed just by listening to a song. There was something in me that felt like I was so understood, that there was the same feeling in the song that was telling me I would never be alone. Now I want to share this with you. Be blessed.

Healing Bitterness

Bitterness is one of the many things that we simply ignore, or perhaps we really don't know we have in our hearts, which hinder us from experiencing the true power of God to work in our lives. It could be from simple things which we don't realize that they can grow deeper roots until serious depression develops in us. It is not easy, I am telling you from experience. So sad it is that many Christians get more lost rather than go seeking the right way to bring the joy back in their lives. I am so blessed that my experience has brought me closer to the LORD.

To fight bitterness, first of all we have to know the reasons why we feel bitter at times. I got the following list from the church service two weeks ago.

1. Unfulfilled Expectations
2. Unresolved Offenses
3. Failure To Forgive
4. Fellowship With Bitterness
5. Failure to heal rights

Now that you know the reasons why there is bitterness, here are some help you can use to heal yourself, and to get closer to what God is telling you. Just listen. And pray.

1. I John 1:9

"The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world."

You can never do the healing alone. You will need help and it should be from someone who has the ultimate power to heal yourself and to release you completely from pain. And Jesus Christ is the only One Who can help you with it. Seek Him and He will listen to you.

2. Ephesians 4:31-32

"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

When you want to get rid of bitterness, you have to forgive all the people who have hurt you, and if necessary seek for forgiveness from those whom you have also hurt in the past. Forgiving is not easy but it is never impossible. With Jesus, I am sure you can.

3. Romans 8:28

"And we all know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

God permits bitterness in our lives for good reasons. He will not allow this to happen if He is not confident that you can overcome it along the way. It also tests our faith in Him. It is a perfect way to grow in faith.

4. James 5:16

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed."

Pray. Submit yourself completely to the LORD and He will do the rest for you.

Happy healing! #
