My Prayer Requests

Before I go to sleep tonight, I had a conversation with my cousin Kuya Junjun. I asked him about the topic with the memory verse they always had since the other day I arrived in San Pedro. He explained to me that they always have Bible Study every Friday, part of it is the recital of a verse from the Bible along with its personal explanation. I thought it was really a nice thing to do.

I pondered on some things he had said to me. Particularly on this one:

Jesus answered, "It is written:'Man does not live on bread alone.'"

Luke 4:4

When I looked in the Bible for this particular verse, it was funny that I had to consult first the table of contents to find the Book of Luke. See, there are so much things I had forgotten so long. Good thing it is never too late to start again.

Anyway, the very reason why I am writing this article is to list down my Prayer Requests. It is because I believe that the more people are praying for your wishes, the more powerful it will become.

Here are my Prayer Requests:

1. I am praying for the good health and safety of my whole family.

2. I am praying for the good health and safety of my dear relatives and of my friends.

3. I am praying for a better job for Papa.

4. I am praying for a new job for me.

5. I am praying for a house that we can claim as ours permanently.

6. I am praying for the settlement of all our bills and debts.

Becoming The Children Of God

Minutes ago, while typing here in front of the computer, Tita Sol kept telling me words from the Bible. She was actually reading Bible verses to me. I couldn't concentrate to what I was doing. I didn't know if I had to stop and listen to her, or I would keep doing my proposal and pretend that I was listening. Bad me, huh?

She was also asking questions that needed my whole attention or she would know that I was not really listening. Then she asked me this: How can you prove that Jesus is the Lord? Arg, that was a tough one! I know and I believe in Jesus Christ but I didn't know what to say. I realized how little I know about our Savior and God. Then she read:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1

The Word became flesh and lived for awhile among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father full of grace and truth.

John 1:14

I was suddenly ashamed of myself but thankful at the same time. It felt like God was talking to me, reminding me of the important things.

But the situation reminded me of the great things we have often forgotten. Tita Sol said that not all the people are Children of God. We can only claim ourselves as the Children of God after we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and only God. What a beautiful blessing, isn't it? God is offering us the greatest gift of salvation. We only have to decide and take it, claim it, and be blessed!

God bless us all! #

Be Inspired With Nothing-ness

Writing one of my recent posts in My Name Is Fernand Yim entitled, Weird And Nothing, was like letting my blood go and flow smoothly. I also posted it on my FilipinoWriter.com account. I received beautiful reactions. And I am learning, re-discovering many things from what they had said.

Jason said through a text message:

The Lord hides EVERYTHING in NOTHING. He hides a tree in a seed. He hides a King in a shepherd boy. He hides a man in a baby. Aren't you excited to see what He is hiding in you? Be prepared for the Big Blessings that God will provide you in the coming days.

Ruth Mostrales of FilipinoWriter.com said:

Hi there! Never fret! There really is something in nothing. If you would recall, in the beginning there was no-thing, and it was so. But God loves to work with nothing, and make our nothingness something to give Him the glory. I don't know how you could ever fill a cup with something even better that what it contains when it's already full. :)

Keep the faith. And just believe.

Ciao!

Ruthie

Isn't it great that even from nothing or in nothing-ness itself, there are hidden wonderful things waiting for us to be discovered or noticed? All we have to do is to look, to listen, to feel. These things are just around us. Take notice of them. #
